Understanding the Different Types of Arts Education
This offering is being provided by Luther Burbank Center for the Arts.

This workshop introduces participants to the three primary types of arts education: arts for arts’ sake, arts adjacent, and arts integrated. Through case studies and discussions, participants will explore how each approach supports creativity, engagement, and cross-disciplinary learning. Attendees will reflect on which model aligns best with their own teaching goals and contexts.
Each LBC workshop in the series is available for independent registration, but to receive the LBC Teaching Artist Certificate participants must attend all five workshops and practicum sessions. All assigned coursework, reflections, and participation in discussions must be completed
This is offering is Workshop 1 of the LBC Teaching Artist Certificate Program, in partnership with Creative Sonoma, is designed to equip aspiring and current teaching artists with the essential skills, strategies, and hands-on experience in arts education. Participants will engage in a series of workshops and a practicum that provides direct experience working alongside LBC’s professional Teaching Artists. Participants who complete the program in full are eligible for compensation or honorarium.
